Originally a C15 hall house with cross wings at the north and south ends
but very much altered in the C18 and C19. It is now divided into 2 tenements
and the original features are obscured. No 7 (the south cross wing)
has been restored with the timber-framing exposed. Two storeys. The
upper storey is jettied on exposed joists and embattled bressumers.
The ground storey has a restored boarded door with arched head and arched
windows with lattice leaded lights. The upper storey has a 4-light leaded
casement. There are interior features. No 8 (the original hall block)
is one storey and attics and the front was built out on the front in
the C18, with a sloping tiled roof. There is one double-hung sash window
with glazing bars and one shallow bow window with glazing bars. Two
gabled dormers on the front. No 9 (Kipps), the original north cross
wing, was rebuilt in the late C18 in brick (painted) with a hipped roof.
Two storeys. The upper storey has one double-hung sash window with glazing
bars and louvred shutters and the ground storey has a shallow bow window
with glazing bars and a 3-panel door with shallow fanlight. The roofs
are all tiled.
