(north-east side)
Nos 16 and 17

Originally No 16 was a separate dwelling, a C15-C16 timber-framed and
plastered building with double gables to the front, the north-west gable
is obscured by the upper storey of Nos 14 and 15. Prior to the late
C19, when it was considerably altered, the timber-framing was exposed.
No 17 was originally the north-west cross wing of the adjoining C15 house,
the main block and south-east cross wing of which is now the Angel Hotel.
Roofs tiled. Two storeys and attics. Two window range of double-hung
sashes with glazing bars. No 17 has an C18 or early C19 shop bow window
with glazing bars. The interior has large beams and open fireplaces.
