- The Old Kennels
GV II
House. C16-C17 with C18 remodelling and later alterations. Timber-framed,
rendered, part underbuilt in painted brick, including right return wall. Plain
tile roof. Red brick stacks. 2 storeys. H-plan. 2-window-bay centre with
projecting cross wings. Present entrance to right return. Ground floor C20
5-light mullion and transom windows, 12-pane flush sashes with sills above. Eaves
cornice, ridge stacks. Wings: 16-pane sashes to ground floor (that to right a C20
replacement). To 1st floor of left wing two 12-pane flush sashes with sills.
Right wing is wider and has one 12-pane sash at lower level. Hipped roofs to
wings. Casement windows and glazed door to right return. Additions to rear
include 2-storey bow to rear of left cross wing, stair tower and extension under
catslide roof. Interior not inspected.
