Copdock Mill, (formerly
listed as Copdock Mill
and Mill House)
Watermill, now engine operated, mid-late C19. Always used as a feed mill. Red
brick, gault brick dressings, slate roof. 2½ storeys. 4 bays. Long facades
divided in 2 by gault brick pilaster strips, similar clasping pilasters at
angles. 4 small-paned 5:5 metal windows with 6 opening lights, beneath iron
lintels. Iron ties to upper floor. Ground floor partly obscured by lean-to
sheds. C20 entrance. Rear similar to front with 4 windows to each floor, one
blocked at ground floor. Timber lucum to east gable. West gable has similar
first floor window, the ground floor obscured by lean-to. Main and overflow
arches, only the latter working. Floodgate intact. Waterwheel gone.
