TM 14 SW COPDOCK THE STREET
Rosemary Cottage and
House, divided in 2. Mid to late C16. Timber framed, rendered, with remains of
pargetting to 1st floor of Rosemary Cottage (left) the ground floor of which is
all brick cased. Plaintile roofs. 3 cells, 2 storeys. 2 C20 doors into left
and right cells. 2 3-light timber casements to Hillside, one to Rosemary
Cottage. 6 first floor timber 2-light casements, 2 per cell, those to Hillside
C20 replacements. Right-hand gable 4-light mullion at first floor. Axial brick
stack between first and second cells, external stack to right hand gable.
Interior. Hillside. Chamfered beams and joists with run-out stops. Brick stack
of probably C17 brick. Cambered tie beam with braces missing. Remains of
4-light diamond mullion windows to front and rear. Wattle slots on frame.
Rosemary Cottage: Stack rebuilt. Higher ceilings with mixed joists.
