TM 13 NE CHELMONDISTON RICHARDSONS LANE

2/7 Nos 6 and 7

Pair of cottages. C18 with C19 rear range. Timber framed and weatherboarded.
Red plain tiled roof. Central red brick chimney stack. C19 red pantiled rear out-
shot kitchen range. 2 storeys and attics. 2-window range of early leaded metal
2-light casements with transoms, drop over hinges. Right and left vertically-boarded
doors, simple surrounds, pentice boards over, step approaches. Internally No 6
(left) still retains brick ground floors, (No 7 floors now concreted-over). C19
bake-oven and C18 corner cupboard with shelves and door. The stairs by chimney
lead through into the attics. Various original vertically-boarded doors with hand-
wrought hinges and catches and vertically-boarded stair head wall. Much reused
medieval timber in frame.
