Nos 57 and No 2 Church Street form part of the same shop premises
Messrs Boots. C19 corner red brick building of 2 storeys and attics, plain
tile roof, with cresting to ridge. 5 large gabled attic dormers with
pierced bargeboards and pointed finials, 2 large chimney stacks with rectangular
bases and grouped shafts set diagonally. Moulded brick eaves cornice 5 window
range of double hung sashes to the upper storey with hood moulds. The gable
end to Church street has pierced bargeboards and pointed finial, and an
upper storey splayed oriel window. The ground floor of the building has a
corner shop front with splayed entrance at the corner, the cornice supported
by a slim cast-iron column with twisted shaft. The shop windows have wood
mullions and panelled risers, moulded and modillioned cornice over.
