A mid C19 red brick building with yellow brick rusticated quoins and window
dressings. It comprises a central 2 storey block with a stopped gable
on the front and single storey side wings with parapets. The centre block
breaks forward slightly. 1:2:1 window range, 3-light mullioned and transomed
casements with glazing bars. The windows and doorway have square hood
moulds. Roof slate. Tall brick walls which enclose the building at the
rear were built for protection after the Melford Riots of 1885. The building
is now converted into flats.
