Originally a mediaeval timber-framed and plastered hall house with cross
wings at the north and south ends. In the C16 the south wing was extended
to the east at the rear and in the C17 a range was added behind the north
wing. In the C19 a brick block was added to the north side of the north
wing (painted). The building is mainly 2 storeyed with the centre block
1 storey and attics. The windows are mainly C20 casements (some double-hung
sashes with glazing bars). Roofs tiled, with 1 gabled dormer to the main
