BARHAM
CHURCH LANE
Whitelodge Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse, early C19 with C18 core. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Red brick, now
painted; the left-hand half of the main elevation is in narrower brickwork,
perhaps of early C18 or earlier, the division being marked by a slight set-
forward to left of entrance. Plaintiled roofs with end chimneys of red brick.
6-light mullioned and transomed windows of C19 and C20, with cambered heads
and small-pane casements. Early C19 6-panelled entrance door, the top panels
glazed. A good open trelliswork porch of early C19; the side panels have open
diamond and square patterning, and the ogee-shaped metal roof has sawtooth
bargeboards and spike finial. A rear wing was built in 2 stages, probably in
C18 and C19.
