House, late C16. 1 storey and attics. Timber-framed and plastered. Hipped
thatched roof with C18/early C19 chimney of red brick. A long mid C20
eyebrow casement dormer. Mid C20 casements and gabled thatched entrance
porch with half-glazed panelled door. Complete studwork at upper level
with arch wind-bracing at corners. Complete wind-braced clasped-purlin
roof with light smoke staining in hall. Heavey unchamfered floor joists
in service cell (those in the hall restored C20). Included despite mid
C20 alterations because an unusually late example of an open-hall house,
the upper part of which is quite complete. A rare example of a rural 2-cell
open-hall house.
