Former farmhouse. Built in 2 stages: late C16 hall range and early C17
parlour cross-wing. 2 storeys with attics. Timber-framed and plastered.
Plaintiled roofs with axial chimney of red brick. Mainly 3-light mid C20
casements. Mid C19 entrance doorway; broad fluted architrave with paterae and
cornice. The hall has late C16 exposed floor joists well-chamfered with bar-
stops. The parlour wing has exposed framing of early or mid C17 type with
wind-braced butt-purlin roof. Also in C17, the hall range was re-roofed and
attics inserted. Enclosing incomplete mediaeval moat.
