House, early C17 with alterations of early C19. 2 storeys. 3-cell plan (the
service cell, to right, is now contained within the adjoining house; it was
altered in C19 to the extent that it is not of special interest). Timber-
framed and plastered. Glazed pantiled roof with axial chimneys of red brick.
Mainly early C19 3-light casements. Glazed C20 entrance door. The parlour
cell is of cross-wing form: fully exposed framing with chamfered ceiling
joists laid flat; butt-purlin roof, with collar-beam at the open truss in
place of a tie-beam. Arched open fireplaces to parlour and chamber above.
The hall range was built with one storey and attics; in C19 the walls were
heightened and a new roof built of shallower pitch.
