2/46 Barn about 25m west north
- west of Home Farm House


Barn, now used as a piggery. Early C17, altered and extended C18. Timber
frame on brick base, weatherboarded and part rendered. Thatched roof. 5 bays
with midstrey and 1 bay to left added. Irregular brick plinth. From central
bay towards road projects rendered gabled midstrey with an arch in brick
plinth across a watercourse, ground floor boarding, double doors, a loft
hatch. Left end roof hipped over added bay which has a door and is part open.
Interior: doors were opposite midstrey, full height studding, jowled posts,
straight and arched braces, some replaced by knees to tie beams, lower butt
purlins, upper clasped purlins with cambered collars, arched and reverse
curved windbraces, roof altered to right; midstrey has through tension
bracing, collars clasping purlins. C20 buildings to rear are not of special
