2/66 Lines Farm House
- II

Shown on OS Map as Back Street. House. c.1600, extended early C18, altered
C19. Timber framed; plastered. Thatched roof. 3 cell lobby entry plan with
1 bay added on parlour end to right. 2 storeys. Ground floor: lobby entrance
is now roughly central, half glazed, half fielded panelled door, architrave
with hoodboard, towards left or service end a boarded door; 3-light part
opening metal frame casements, ground floor hoodboards, smaller first floor
windows. Slightly higher eaves to added bay to right. Axial ridge stack
between hall and parlour. Left end exposed plates and side purlins. Right
gable end is C18 red brick, diapered with flared headers, internal end stack.
To rear right a short flint and red brick lean-to outshut, pantiled oven
outshut behind stack. Interior: frame largely concealed, original parlour has
richly carved acanthus frieze on fireplace bressumer with roll moulded
borders, ogee stop chamfered axial binding beams, later stop chamfered cross
axial binding beam in added bay, cambered collars to concealed roof.
