Pear Tree Farm House

House, latterly 2 or more dwellings. Late C16, extended and reroofed in C19,
altered and extended C20. Timber frame, plastered, steeply pitched machine
pantiled roof. 3 cell cross passage plan, extended by 1 bay to left or
parlour end. 1 storey and attic. Entrance in original cross passage
position; a half glazed door in a gabled porch, 2-light glazing bar casements
and 3 gabled dormers, all C20. Rebuilt ridge stack with white brick dressings
between hall and parlour. Left end C20 external stack. To rear 4 gabled
dormers and a flat roofed outshut from parlour end. Right end lower
weatherboarded and rendered C20 additions. Interior: original basket arched
doorhead to rear of cross passage, mortice for screen which is positioned on
lower side of passage, C17 and panelled with broad muntins; close studding,
straight arched braces in walls; hall has a stop chamfered cross axial binding
beam and fireplace bressumer, altered framing; parlour has a cross axial
binding beam and jowled storey posts. First floor frame concealed, roof
renewed in C19.
