Farm House


Stabling with loft accommodation, converted to a barn. Early C16, reroofed
C20. Timber frame on a brick base, weatherboarded and rendered. Pantiled
roof. 3 small bays. Originally 2 storeys. Interior: close studding with
mid-rail, arched bracing halved inside studs, mortices for 3, 4 and 5-light
diamond mullioned windows with shutter grooving on all walls on both levels,
had three entrances all with 4-centred arched heads, cross entry in one end
bay, single entrance with adjacent stairs in other end bay, arched braces from
jowled and rebated posts to sharply cambered tie beams in one of which the
stump of a queen post remains, all main timbers are chamfered; floor removed
with evidence of bracing to binding beams, no signs of any form of heating nor
of additional bays.
