House, latterly 2 dwellings and a private school. c.1600, raised and extended
early C19. Timber frame, plastered. Black glazed pantiled roof. An L on
plan, early 3 cell range to left, C19 range to front. 2 storeys. To front a
central entrance with an open gabled porch, flanking and first floor 3-light
timber and metal glazing bar casements, ground floor hoodboards, plinth, boxed
eaves. Right end internal cross axial ridge stack, pentice boards. Roof
hipped to left to early bays with an entrance towards rear, half glazed and
half panelled door, mixed 2 and 3-light casements, central ridge stack. Rear
gable end external stack with offsets, pantiled oven outshut. C20 lean-to
behind early range. Interior: close studding, chamfered storey posts and mid-
rail, stop chamfered binding beam, first floor arched bracing in original end
walls and from jowled posts to cambered tie beams.
