4/77 Street Farmhouse

Farmhouse; mid/late C16, with possible earlier core. 3-cell cross-passage
entrance plan; the parlour cell to left is of cross-wing form. One storey and
attics. Timber-framed and plastered. Main range roof is Roman pantiled,
cross-wing roof pantiled; both would have originally been thatched. One mid
C19 gabled casement dormer, with spike finial and pierced carving beneath the
bargeboards. Casements with small panes of C19; two renewed with mid C20
casements. Two C19 4-panelled entrance doors, one at the cross-entry with a
gabled canopy on long carved brackets; this and the right hand gable have
bargeboards to match the dormers. Some unmoulded C16 framing in the hall;
interior otherwise not examined.
