5/14 Willow Cottage

Cottage; C18, possibly 1770. 3-cell lobby-entrance plan. 1 storey and
attics. Timber-framed and plastered. Thatched roof with axial chimney of red
brick; original thatched gabled casement dormers. C19 (or possibly original)
small-pane casements, and boarded door at lobby entrance position. An
unusually complete example of an C18 cottage; primary-braced studwork and on-
edge floor-joists, reused oak timber combined with other woods. A wide
lintelled open fireplace in the hall; a cupboard attached to the central
chimney in the parlour is dated 1770 with various initials, and may be the
construction date for the house. A contemporary fitted panelled corner
