Shop and company headquarters, built 1855 for Lankester Webb as a house;
earlier range to rear, probably of C18. Gault brick with a band of limestone
beneath 1st floor windows, hipped slated roof with modillioned eaves cornice;
3 internal chimneys of gault brick. Main elevation faces north; the west
elevation to road is of 6 windows, the centre two set slightly forward. Small
pane sashes with broad moulded limestone architraves; border panes. Entrance
doorway with Roman Doric entablature in limestone with dentilled pediment and
attached columns. Pair of glazed panelled doors. To right of entrance is a
2-storey flat roofed bay window. A parallel rear range is of C17 or C18:
timber-framed and plastered, plaintiled roof, mid C19 small-pane sashes. An
altered rear service range; partly of three storeys, partly two.
