5/115 Manor House (including
- attached screen walls)
House. Mid C18 with C16-C17 work at rear. Red brick; roof of glazed black
pantiles. 2 storeys and attic. 5 windows, 2:1:2; flush-frame sashes with
glazing bars under flat arches. Doorway with inset 6-panelled raised and
fielded door, rectangular fanlight with ornamental glazing bars incorporating
a hexagonal lantern case; panelled reveals; reeded pilasters and entablature
with dentil cornice. Flat parapet with whitewashed corbelled brick band at
base. Semi-circular attic windows in gables. Later screen walls curve
forward, each with a blind arcade of 3 arches, the centre arch to the left
containing a gate, the corresponding arch to the right plastered to match.
Lower sections of wall extend to the road, terminating in a square pier.
Single-storey plastered wing to right. Timber framed rear range with hipped
roof and a tall sawtooth stack.
