-
-- II

Former farmhouse, latterly 2 cottages, now one dwelling. Late C16 with late
C19 alterations. Timber framed, encased in red brick. Roof of double Roman
tiles. 2 storeys and attic. 3-cell form. 4 windows, late C19 mullion and
transom casements with a single horizontal glazing bar to each light; wedge
lintols. 2 matching doorways: panelled doors, gabled hoods with drop finials.
Internal stack. The hall has a good moulded cross-beamed ceiling with
chamfered joists, mostly concealed. Some re-used C17 fielded oak panelling
against the cross-passage. Evidence for 2 service doorways, now removed. On
the upper floor some of the frame is visible and other timbers are papered
over.
