Former farmhouse. Dated 1630 internally. Timber framed, part plastered; colourwashed brick to ground floor and brick to both gable ends (that to the south of C18 date). Roof pantiled to front and plaintiled to rear. Two storeys and attic. An unusual form, with two short wings forming L-shape plan; it is likely that the west end of the north wing has been lost. Each wing has two windows, C18-C19 casements. North wing has six-panelled raised and fielded door and open porch on timber posts. South wing has a four-panel door, also with a simple open porch. Two flat roofed dormers to south wing. An axial stack to the north wing, not quite at the gable end. Main room of north wing has ovolo-moulded cross beamed ceiling: the soffits are carved with flowers, and at the centre is a Tudor rose and the date. Ovolo-moulded cross beams in chamber above: in the centre a cartouche with the initials 'NF'. Timbers almost wholly concealed.
