STRADBROKE
MILL LANE
Barn 60m south west of The Brooklands

II

Barn. Late C16. Timber framed and weatherboarded, the roof clad in
corrugated iron sheeting. 4 bays. Frame largely intact, with a middle rail
and arched corner bracing. A little of the original daub infilling survives.
North bay was originally partitioned off and floored over for use as stables
and hay loft: one diamond-mullioned window and evidence for others; also the
original doorway. Intact roof with 2 rows of butt purlins and arched wind
braces. The Brooklands is not listable.
