Farmhouse. C16. Restored c.1964. Timber framed and plastered with
plaintiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3-cell form. 4 windows, mid C20
casements. Central mid C20 entrance with 6-panel raised and fielded door,
side lights and flat hood. 5 flush rooflights. Internal stack with plain
rebuilt shaft. To rear (east) a 2-storey C16 gabled addition,probably a
porch, and an original window with heavy square mullions. Interior has some
fine heavy studding. Massive lintols to hall and parlour fireplaces. In the
hall are 3 doorways with 4-centre arched heads. Some C16 doors. A tall first
floor cupboard has an C18 door with 3 carved raised and fielded panels. Roof
has clasped and butt purlins, with long arched braces to the collars, meeting
at the centre. Encircling medieval moat.
