listed as Mellis Hall and
Barn, Mellis Green)

GV II

Barn. Late C16, extended C19. Timber frame on red brick base. Rendered,
weatherboarded and corrugated sheet clad. Corrugated sheet roof. 7 bays.
Central doors, midstrey to rear removed. Two c19 storeyed bays added to left.
Extending forwards from right bay a 1 storey range, weatherboarded with stable
doors, slate roof. C20 additions to rear are not of special interest.
Interior: jowled posts with arched braces to cambered tie beams, braces
largely missing or replaced by knees, arched braces to cambered collars,
arched windbraces to butt purlins.
