PALGRAVE CROSSING ROAD (NORTH SIDE)
- The Cottage
House. C17, altered and extended early to mid C19. Timber frame. Plastered
with scoring to resemble ashlar. Extended in red brick. Pantiled roofs. 2
cell lobby entry plan. 2 storeys and attic. Ground floor: central entrance
in a close gabled porch addition with slate roof, flanking shallow 3-light bay
windows with arched heads to each light, hipped tiled heads. First floor: 3-
light casements in moulded flush frames flank a small 2-pane window. Central
on ridge an axial cement rendered stack. Main range has C20 bargeboards to
steeply pitched gable ends. To right a lower C19 bay has 10:10 margin glazed
moulded flush frame sashes, right end extruded stack with offsets. To rear
centre extends a C19 red brick wing with recessed segmental headed sashes and
a ridge stack, flanking lean-to outshuts. Interior not inspected.
