House. Early C16, stack and floor inserted and parlour bay added early C17,
raised and altered C20. Timber frame, plastered. Shallow pitch to pantiled
roof. Originally a small 2-bay open hall with storeyed service/solar end,
stack inserted at upper end, parlour added to right. 2 storeys. Entrance in
a C20 gabled porch in original cross passage position. 2-light C20 glazing
bar casements with hoodboards. Rebuilt axial ridge stack between hall and
parlour. Left end C20 1 storey outbuilding. Interior: a 4 centred arched
door head to rear of cross passage, hall has studding without a midrail,
inserted stop chamfered cross axial binding beam, stop chamfered fireplace
bressumer, parlour has close studding, stop chamfered cross axial binding
beam. First floor over hall cranked braces from jowled posts to cambered tie
beams with a crown post mortice to former open truss, arched braces in
walling, 4 light diamond mullioned and 2-light chamfered mullioned window
openings, reverse curved bracing over parlour.
