TM 07 NE WORTHAM LONG GREEN (NORTH SIDE)

House, now 2 dwellings. Mid to late C16, extended mid C17. Timber frame,
roughcast. Thatched roof. Originally 2 cells with parlour added to right. 2
storeys with attic over parlour. Entrance in cross passage position to centre
of original building, a boarded door in an open gabled porch, second entrance
into parlour to right, 2 and 3-light glazing bar casements. Eaves step up
slightly to later build, originally external stack is now axial on ridge in
parlour, 2 conjoined diagonally set shafts, rebuilt cap. Roof half hipped to
left end with exposed plates. Right end attic 2-light casement, exposed
plates and purlins. To rear right a clay lump pantiled lean-to outshut.
Interior: hall has a stop chamfered cross axial binding beam and runout
chamfered joists, arched bracing in service end wall, first floor central
opposed base cruck blades to a raised stop chamfered tie beam on which are
jowled queen posts above which roof is ceiled. Parlour has a double bar stop
chamfered axial binding beam, concealed frame, first floor not inspected.
