House and shop. C17 core; major mid C19 remodelling. 2 storeys, 3 windows.
Originally a house of 3-cell lobby-entrance plan, extended to right in C19.
Timber-framed and plastered. Double Roman pantiled roof with complete series
of C19 fleur-de-lys crested ridge tiles. An axial late C19 chimney of red
brick with gault brick quoins; a C19 gable chimney to right. Mid C19
casements. Mid C19 4-panelled door to No.39, glazed C20 door to No.41. The
C17 house has quite complete framing, mainly concealed, giving evidence that
the house was of 1 1/2 storeys until C19 when walls were raised and goof rebuilt.
Large central chimney with blocked open fireplaces.
