Public house. Late C17 or early C18, with possible core of c.1600. One
storey and attics. 3 windows. Timber-framed and roughcast. Thatched roof
with C19 gabled casement dormers. Rear C19 chimney of red brick. C19
casements. Two early C20 panelled doors; the upper panels glazed. The
original building has had ground storey partitioning removed, and the bars are
within a single space. Well-chamfered main beams, and some unchamfered joists
laid flat in the late C16 manner; however, some areas have on-edge floor
joists suggesting major C18 alterations or total reconstruction. Evidence for
close-studded partitioning beneath two beams, giving a 3-cell plan.
