GV II

House, probably C17 but with some components of C16; alterations of c.1800 and
c.1980. One storey and attics. 3-cell plan with cross-entry. Timber-framed
and plastered. Pantiled roof once thatched, with one C19 gabled casement
dormer. Axial C18 chimney of red brick, another of C19 gault brick to left.
Two early C19 windows: iron casements with very small panes. Late C18 or
early C19 panelled entrance door, the upper pair of panels adapted to receive
small-paned lights to match windows. A C19 range set forward to right was
added as a shop but is now part of the dwelling. The parlour cell to right
has heavy unchamfered C16 floor joists apparently reused. Close-studding of
C17 appearance exposed elsewhere, and a lintelled open fireplace in the hall.
A 2-storey rear extension added c.1980.
