GV II
Barn, late C17 or early C18. 5 bays. Timber-framed, clad partly in
weatherboarding and partly in corrugated iron. The framing is partly encased
in common brick at the lower level. Roof of corrugated iron sheeting, once
thatched. A gabled porch at centre of west side, with dovecote in the gable.
Good framing for date, reusing much timber. Archbraced tiebeams at open
trusses. Close-studding with middle rail, and storey-posts at half-bay
intervals. Primary bracing. 2-tier butt-purlin roof, the upper tier
windbraced. To north is an early C19 timber-framed and weatherboarded stable
complete with loft, manger and hayrack.
