Description

RATTLESDEN FELSHAM ROAD
TL 95 NE
3/92 Stable, 50m south-west of
- White House
GV II
Stable, late C17. 7 bays. Timber-framed and weatherboarded; some early or
original plaster with herringbone pargetting in panels. Corrugated asbestos
roof, once thatched. A number of boarded stable doors. Primary-braced oak
studding with many reused timbers. The storey posts have pronounced jowls for
binding beams supporting a hayloft: most of the joists were renewed in C19,
and in some bays the floor is missing. 2-tier side purlin roof, the lower
tier butted and staggered and the upper tier clasped and wind braced. In poor
condition at date of survey.
