Public house, early C18 facade to C16/C17 core. Timber-framed and plastered;
the left hand gable is encased in C19 red brick. Plaintiled roof with moulded
C18 eaves cornice. An internal C18/C19 end chimney of red brick to left, and
a rear chimney (now internal) of late C16 or early C17 red brick, the shaft
rebuilt in C19. 2 storeys. 5 windows. Early C18 small-pane sashes with
flush frames; a number have original sashes with thick glazing bars, and at
upper left is a painted dummy sash. C18 entrance doorway: a pair of 3-
panelled doors, the lower panels fielded, and the upper pair glazed. Eared
architraved. Pulvinated frieze and moulded pediment. Two short rear wings of
C16/C17 origin, that to left is heavily remodelled in C18 and C19 flint and
red brick.
