House and restaurant, formerly bakery. Circa 1550 with encasing of late C18
or early C19. 2 storeys. 3 windows, plus 2 dummy windows. Timber-framed,
encased in late C18/early C19 red brick (now painted). Concrete plaintiled
roof. Two end chimneys: that to left is of C16 narrow buff bricks, that to
right a rebuilt shaft of C17 red brick. C19 small-pane casements with
cambered heads. A c19 boarded entrance door, and another 2-panelled. A 2-
cell end-chimney house, with a number of original features: in the hall is an
exposed 1st floor of roll-moulded beams and joists. An open fireplace with
deep double-ogee moulded fireplace. Evidence for a longwall jetty to the
street frontage. A repositioned wainscotted cross-passage screen with
chamfered framing. A blocked window with roll-moulded mullions. Altererd
twin service doorways. A reset doorway with 4-centred arch. The single
service room has good unchamfered floor joists.
