The Old Post Office

House. Part medieval or early C16; altered and extended early C17 and C18 to
form a 2-cell house with lobby entrance. Timber framed, roughcast-rendered
with a pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. C19 3-light casement windows; a
single-light window over the doorway. Mid C20 6-panel door and flat hood.
Internal stack with C17 shaft. The earliest work is contained in the left hand
cell: first floor exposed studding and heavy arched corner braces. The walls
of this part were raised 0.5m in C18 to accord with the C17 right hand cell.
Newel stairs to first floor. Late C18 corner cupboard with arched head.
