Yew Tree Cottage
II
Former farmhouse. Early C17. Timber framed and plastered, the right gable
end cased in colourwashed brick below tie beam level. Roof of glazed black
pantiles. 2 storeys, formerly with attic. 3-cell, lobby entry type. 3
windows, mainly old 3-light casements. Ground floor has mid C20 canted bay
with pantiled roof and another mid C20 window to right. C20 gabled porch and
boarded door with vertically-panelled face. An extra single-pane window over
the porch. Internal stack. Frame largely intact, although partly concealed.
Hall and parlour have axial bridging beams with nicked stops, the joists
concealed. Plain joists, set flat, at service end.
