No.6 and No.7 (Athene

listed as No.6, No.7)
Formerly one house, now 2 dwellings. Mid C17 (said to be 1650); small C19
colourwashed brick addition to left, probably added when the house was sub-
divided into 2. Timber framed, No.6 plastered, No.7 with textured render.
Plaintiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3-cell form. 3 windows, small C19
casements, those to No.7 without glazing bars. No.6 has boarded door in C19
addition; No.7 has 2 boarded doors. Small bracketed drip boards over all 1
ground floor openings. Internal stack; the lower part, with an oval panel, is
original. Later gable stacks. No.6, comprising the parlour end of the C17
range, has ground floor room with axial bridging beam and chamfered joists
with scroll stops. Widely-spaced plain studs. Roof has stepped butt purlins.
Newel stairs. Interior of No.7 not examined, but most of the structure said
to be concealed.
