House. C15, the upper end rebuilt C16-C17. Timber framed with textured
plasterwork. Thatched roof, originally hipped over service end, 1 1/2 storeys.
A former open hall house, probably of 3-cell form. 3 windows, C19 casements
except for one mid C20 standard window to right. The ground floor windows
have wooden hoodmoulds. One eyebrow dormer and one with small lean-to type
pantiled roof. Mid C20 gabled porch and 4-panel door. Internal stack and
gable stack to right. Small one storey pantiled wing to left. Queen-post
roof over hall. Open truss now removed but evidence for the arched braces to
it can be seen on the wallposts. Lower end wall of hall is intact. Evidence
for original 6-light diamond mullioned hall window. Stack inserted against
upper end of hall in C17. Inserted floor (joists not visible) probably of
same date.
