Two houses, built as one: core probably of late C16, alterations of C17 and
c.1970. One storey and attics. 4 windows. Timber-framed and plastered.
Pantiled roof, half-hipped at either end (once thatched). 5 casement dormers
of c.1970 (two are paired). An axial chimney of C17 or early C18 red brick.
Two external chimneys at right and left of C19 red brick. Small-pane
casements of c.1970, and half-glazed panelled entrance doors with gabled
pantiled porches to each house. Interior: timber-framing almost entirely
concealed: No.2 has an arch-braced open truss of late C16 character, and one
brace passes through the first floor. This and other-signs indicate that the
house has a late-medieval core of which there will be further concealed
evidence: included for this reason and for group value.
