TL 96 NE HUNSTON THE STREET

House; late C16, mid C17 and late C18. One storey and attics. 3-cell plan.
Timber-framed and plastered. Thatched roof with two gabled casement dormers.
An axial chimney, the shaft rebuilt in C18/C19 red brick, and a C19 gable
chimney to left. C20 small-pane casements. Boarded and battened C20 entrance
door. The central cell has mid or late C16 framing exposed: unchamfered floor
joists and a lintelled open fireplace (the lintel has applied carved early
C17 decoration introduced from elsewhere). The left hand cell may also be of
C16 origin but has C18 floor joists and a rebuilt clasped purlin roof. The
service cell to right of mid C17 has primary-braced studding, on-edge floor
joists and diamond mullioned window evidence.
