House, early C17 with possible earlier core. One storey and attics. 2
windows, 2-cell main range with two rear wings of C17. Timber-framed, the
framing exposed with plaster infill panels, on a plinth of red brick: to left
the plinth is in C17 brick and to right of C19. Plaintiled roofs: to rear
left is an early C17 chimney of red brick with twin octagonal shafts on
moulded pages. A C17 gabled casement dormer with moulded tie beam and acorn
drop finials, C18 casements with leaded lights; the upper lights are arcaded.
Fine 2-storey early C17 gabled entrance porch with exposed framing: the upper
floor and gable tie beam are jettied. Baluster shafts on 3 sides. Drop
finials at gable foot. An C18 casement of 3 lights over the entrance. Inner
doorway: possibly C17 battened plank door. Widely-spaced studding exposed on
exterior with arch windbracing. Interior not examined.
