Description

TL 96 SW THURSTON PLANCHE ROAD

4/151 Coachmans
-

-- II

House, mid C16. One storey and attics. 3-cell plan with both lobby- and
cross-entry. Timber-framed and plastered. Pantiled roof: an axial chimney,
the shaft rebuilt in C20 common brick; another external chimney to right. C19
plaintiled gabled dormers. Mid C20 small-paned casements. Two boarded C19
entrance doors. Interior: A double-ogee moulded binding beam gives evidence
for a larger chimney at the position of the present one: the cambered lintel
over the hall fireplace is probably reused. A little close-studding: there is
said to be a blocked diamond-mullioned window concealed in the gable of the
service cell to right.
