House, c.1530 with alterations of c.1840. Two storeys. Three-cell cross-entry plan. Timber-framed and plastered. C19 slated roof: an axial chimney, the shaft rebuilt in C19 gault brick; a C19 gable chimney to left. C19 casements of three lights. C19 entrance door with six fielded panels: simple portico porch on slender Doric columns.
Interior: despite loss of roof in C19, a quite complete example of a mid C16 house. Tension-braced close-studding: a blocked diamond mullioned window and evidence for others. The hall has good double-ogee moulded first floor joists and beams, and in the parlour only the main beam is moulded. Wide open fireplaces; the lintel over that in the hall is moulded, and over the parlour fireplace there are two sunk panels of brickwork. Complete cross-passage screen of planks and moulded muntins. The service end partitions are missing, but the unmoulded first floor members are exposed.
