TL 96 SE TOSTOCK LEYS ROAD

GV II

House, early C19 with core of probably c.1600. Flint rubble with dressings of
gault brick, encasing a timber-framed core. Plaintiled roof, hipped at left
hand end. An axial chimney of early C17 red brick with 4 octagonal shafts
each having a moulded base. Other internal chimneys of early C19 gault brick.
3 good early C18 dormers with lead-clad segmental roofs and segmental-headed
casements with leaded lights. 2 storeys and attics. 4-window main range:
small-pane early C19 sashes, those at ground storey with flat arches of gauged
brick. Panelled entrance door with architrave and segmental pediment. A C19
range to rear. Remodelling of c.1970 in brown brick to right.
