Tannington Hall

Barn, part now used as tack room for the adjoining stables. C16. Timber
framed, part weatherboarded, part rendered. Roof clad in corrugated sheeting,
with one catslide dormer. The frame is probably in 6 bays, with a cart
entrance in the third bay from the west. The 2 bays at the west end have
closely-spaced heavy studs, a middle rail and reverse-curved braces between
post and wallplate. Tie beam braces replaced by knees. Roof has clasped and
butt purlins, with 2-way arched wind braces. The portion to the east of the
cart entrance was not fully examined. At the east end is an intermediate
floor, with a ground floor tack room and mid C20 brick-walled through passage.
The stables and dwelling attached to the south are not of special interest.
