House. C15. Timber framed and plastered, thatched roof. 1½ storeys. 3-cell
form with former open hall. Various old casement windows. One small eyebrow
dormer. Small C19 colourwashed brick lean-to set forward to left, with mid
C20 door in side wall. Internal stack with small shaft. Later stack against
front gable end. Largely intact frame visible inside. 2-centre arched cross-
entry doorway in front wall. Open truss removed, the cambered tie beam
repositioned against the stack. On the ground floor, one buttress-shafted
wallpost with the lower portion of a brace. Upper end wall of hall intact.
Medieval joists in parlour with trimming for stair. Service partition
removed. Stack inserted in lower bay of hall. Floor in hall inserted c.1600,
with axial bridging beam and chamfered joists. Service end has on-edge
pitchpine joists of C18 or early C19.
