House. C15 with early C20 addition to west. Timber framed and plastered; some
old panelled plasterwork to north. Pantiled roof. 1½ storeys. Various C19
casement windows; one gabled dormer to south. Boarded entrance door to north,
set in original cross-entry doorway with hollow-moulded 2-centre arched head.
Internal stack, at junction with adjacent house (q.v. Item 5/128): plain C16-
C17 shaft set just to north of roof ridge, the upper portion rebuilt C19.
Early C20 addition is in common brick, also pantiled. The house comprises a
2-bay former open hall, the service end to the west now lost. Sooted studding
is exposed at first floor level; tension braces in lower gable end. Both
cross-entry doorways are intact together with one service doorway, the second

outs to a plain square base. Stack inserted into upper bay of hall. Inserted
floor has axial bridging beam, the joists concealed.
